Salford Red Devils will face off against Hull KR, in a difficult contest between top versus bottom.
The Red Devils who have had a week off, will be eager to go against the recently crowned Betfred Challenge Cup winners.
Hull KR won the competition for the second time, beating Warrington Wolves 8-6 in the 2025 Final, but Paul Rowley’s side will be looking to return to winning ways.
However, as Salford approach this fixture, fans should be hopeful as the last time the Red Devils featured at the Salford Community Stadium they were able to secure a 26-22 win against Castleford Tigers.
And despite the away defeat to Leeds Rhinos 42-6, Salford have had a chance to rest and prepare for their next game, which should leave them fresh for tonight (Thursday 31 July) night’s contest.
However, the week-long preparations will be necessary for the Red Devils, as they have struggled to match Hull KR in both meetings this season losing 42-0 and 54-0.
And as Paul Rowley’s side approach this next fixture, they will have to ensure that they prevent another damning defeat.
But with only win in the last three for Hull KR, beating Catalan Dragons 34-6 and losing to Leeds Rhinos 8-14 and Leigh Leopards 28-10. Both sides will be coming in the game in similar form – with Salford having a more recent.
And Paul Rowley’s side will be hoping to make advantage of that form, especially with the return of Loghan Lewis, who served his concussion protocol and will be looking to strengthen the squad.
Ahead of the fixture the Salford head coach was full of compliments for the opposition, as he said: “I just think they’re a polishing outfit from top to bottom.
“They’re a team that likes to get people in the grind, they play tough and they value defence first and foremost.
Rowley continued: “I think as a Club on the whole they’ve been great, they’ve grown on and off the field in each measure.”
“I can’t speak highly enough of them, really, they’ve been a good benchmark for any aspiring team. Especially your Leighs and Wakefields who came up from the Championship and emulated that as well.”
Nonetheless, Salford will be hoping for the best possible result in front of the home support as they continue the search for the third win of the campaign – in the hope of closing the gap to Huddersfield Giants once again.
And the Red Devils will have a chance to do this as they face off against Hull KR at the Salford Community Stadium, kicking off at 8pm.
