The festive spirit in the community will begin this week, as Saxattax will take to the stage offering a unique blend of Christmas tunes and familiar songs.
The band are set to perform on Thursday 5 December, starting their show at Eccles Town Hall from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Ahead of the performance their is a lot of excitement for the event as they aim to gain a diverse audience at the town hall.
Joann Kerrigan, member of the quartet says “this performance will feature a selection of holiday classics, reimagined through the unique sound of the saxophone quartet.
“It’s a different experience for the audience—hearing these familiar songs in a new way.”
The Saxaphone band have already performed at the Eccles Town Hall already this year, but will be hoping that the community spirit of Christmas will draw larger audiences.
As Joann continued: “We’re really looking forward to bringing together the local community for a night of festive fun and live music.”
The groups presence in Salford has also seen a growth and engagement in music, with both older and younger people attending, and even children who are studying the saxophone themselves.
“We’ve had a great response, and it’s been wonderful to see such a wide range of people enjoying the music,” she continued.
“We usually perform popular music, including pop, jazz, reggae, and Latin covers,” Joanne explains. “However, for this special Christmas performance, we’ll be focusing on festive carols and well-known Christmas songs, all played on saxophones.”
Tickets for the event are £10 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
For a little extra holiday cheer, attendees will also be treated to a free mince pie, a festive raffle, and a fully stocked bar.
If you can’t attend the concert, Saxattax is available for private functions throughout the year, bringing their signature sound to events across the Northwest.
