Salford Youth Zone (SYZ) will receive support from Salford-based housing provider who have become the latest Founder Patron. 

The housing association, Salix Homes have become pledged patron to the SYZ, which will see them receive financial support for the next four years.

Salix homes will donate £100,000 to support the early growth of the Salford Youth Zone as it is set to open its door early in 2025.

This donation comes following the annoncement that 70 new jobs are set to be created from the landmark Youth Zone. 

The site located on Belvedere Road in Pendleton, began construction at the end of January 2024 .

With the new venue, set to open its doors in early 2025, promising to bring new opportunites for everyone in the local community, being open seven-days-a-week.

ages 8 to 19, and 25 for those with additional needs or disabilities.

The partnership will intend to see the commitment to transform lives in the community with its opportunities for young members, job and volunteer positions and mentoring schemes.

With the amazing opportunities for the future Sian Grant, Executive Director of Customers and Communities at Salix Homes, said: “We are incredibly proud to be a Founder Patron of Salford Youth Zone.

“By supporting the Youth Zone, we’re investing in the young people of Salford, giving them access to a safe space where they can grow, learn and thrive.”

Salix Homes owns and manages more than 8,000 homes across Salford, including social and affordable housing it roots remain firmly in the city.

As Sian continued to add: “We believe that building vibrant communities goes beyond providing homes; it’s about supporting people and creating opportunities for the future.”

And it is the opportunities for the future that make this partnership so important for the area.

With the added donation, this project looks to be an exciting and important development in the city, providing an opportunity for the local community to become involved in the area.
