Salford City have announced the permanent signing of Dan Chesters following his departure from West Ham United.
The versatile 22-year-old spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at The Peninsula Stadium after arriving on deadline day.
In that time, he recorded two assists in 13 appearances, adding pace and energy to Karl Robinson’s side.
As a graduate of the West Ham academy, Chesters was a regular in the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2 before featuring for the Hammers in the Premier League and the Europa League.
He also spent time on loan at Colchester United and featured 18 times for the Essex-based side during the 2022-23 campaign.
After signing a two-year deal with The Ammies he said: “I feel very happy to know that I will be signing as a permanent player! I have really enjoyed it so far, the staff, players and the fans have all been really welcoming to me and it is really starting to feel like home.
“I cannot wait to get back with the lads for pre-season and meeting up with everyone again. I have been keeping myself fit, but I have had a couple of weeks off just to rest and relax, and I am very excited and keen to get back into the swing of things now.
“We want to start pushing on and winning loads of games and racking up the points this season. For me the main objective is to have a really good season, contribute with goals and to play well, taking players on and helping the team meet its aims of getting promoted.”
Chesters is the clubs first piece of summer business.
