van stolen Salford

Police have launched an appeal after a man in his 80s had his delivery van rammed into and stolen in Salford.

The theft happened on Tuesday March 12 at around 2pm on the Crescent, Salford.

The delivery driver, who drove a large white Mercedes Sprinter was approached by a group of men travelling behind in a black Volvo V60 estate.

The group of men then purposefully collided into the back of the van before forcing the victim out of the vehicle and driving off.

The suspects left the scene in a Volkswagen Jetta, as well as the Volvo. Police said the Volvo estate’s registration plate was AG58 LZC, while the Volkswagen Jetta’s registration plate was FR13 NWZ.

Both plates were believed to be cloned or on false details.

The victim’s vehicle was later abandoned a short distance away on Great Clowes Street with items still inside.

The police have identified three men (pictured) who they would like to speak to. Officers believe these men may have vital information that could help with their investigation.
