With one game remaining, Salford are on the brink of making the League Two play-offs.

Being the current top scorers in the division with 72 goals, and having won four of their last five, Salford come into their last game of the season full of confidence knowing a point at home to Gillingham would guarantee play-offs for this season.

But eyes will be elsewhere at The Peninsula on Monday afternoon, with movement guaranteed in the play offs spots on the final day.

So, how could the final day play out for Salford:

  • If Salford win or draw it insures play offs for them – where they will finish in the spots is subject to other fixtures happening at the same time.
  • If Salford lose and Bradford win and Mansfield win by 3 or more goals, then Salford would drop out of the play-offs and miss out by potential goal difference.

Mansfield Town in 8th place know they have to win convincingly against a relatively inform Colchester, whilst Bradford have the tough ask of taking points off of league champions Leyton Orient.

With Salford facing Gillingham who have only won one of their last five, play-off spots are firmly in Salford’s grasp, with an opportunity for a trip to Wembley on the 28th of May potentially on the horizon.
