A rampant Salford Red Devils made history by reaching their first Betfred Super League Grand Final after a convincing 28-4 victory over Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium.
Tries from prop Gil Dudson, hooker Joey Lussick and captain Lee Mossop as well as 16 points from the boot of Krisnan Inu set up the victory for Ian Watson’s side.
The visitors took an early lead though two Inu penalties and took a four point lead.
Dudson then scored the opening try of the night, darting through the Wigan defence to extend the gap.
Another penalty from Inu ensured that the Red Devils had a 12-0 lead at the interval.
Salford started the second half as they ended the first. It took Lussick six minutes to score his try before Mossop crashed over less than 20 minutes later.
Four more points were added before Wigan scored a late consolation try through winger Bevan French seven minutes from time.
Tonight’s victory for Salford was only their third victory at the DW Stadium since 1997 and they will now play St. Helens at Old Trafford next Saturday.
