Highways England have confirmed that a car has collided with a heavy goods vehicle between junction 31 and 12 of the M60 anti clockwise, causing delays for Salford travelers.
The incident took place just before 7am this morning, with the motorway busy with Monday commuters. Cars are still queued back now as the debris is cleared and the car moved to the hazard area.
Highways England have since re-opened all lanes, however there are still long delays expected. Drivers should find an alternative route where possible.
The incident is expected to cause chaos for travelers in and around Salford, with University of Salford students and staff starting the new term today, along with the expected Monday morning rush hour traffic.
We will have more on this story as it develops…
