WITH the room full of patterned, unique clothing and historic, eclectic homeware, Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair returned to Manchester on Saturday.
The touring vintage fair which began in 2008 came to the northern quarter’s Britannia Sachas Hotel and brought in crowds from old to young.
The fair included a range of vintage fashion, homeware, collectables and accessories. As well as a vintage tea party, a pop up salon and live entertainment. Guests that attended Saturday’s fair described it as “fun”, “nostalgic” and “full of character”.
Emily Taysom, the Press and Social Media Manager for Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair said: “The fair has grown from strength to strength, travelling to over 40 cities and winning the accolade Best Vintage Fair at the National Vintage Awards for three years running.
“You can create a whole narrative from just one piece – who it may have belonged to or where it has been. To take that narrative and history away would be a massive shame so that’s why we pioneer vintage.”
Originally the fair was set up by Lou Lou in 2008 as she wanted to create a pop up shopping event full of “good quality, interesting and affordable vintage items” where like-minded vintage enthusiasts could meet and shop.
The fair has previously been to Manchester multiple times and prides itself on 40 traders, all “hand-picked for their amazing vintage stock.” Lou Lou’s fair will continue to tour and return to Manchester as long as there is still demand.
Taysom added: “We definitely see a lot of different people coming to our fairs and we really love that. From someone older who remembers the fashion to a student who is looking for some thrifty pieces.”
