New figures show more than two-thirds of pupils in Salford state secondaries are attending underperforming schools

Almost seven in 10 children in secondary state education in Salford are attending an underperforming school, new figures reveal. The latest school performance tables show that only three state-funded secondary schools in Salford have achieved progress scores above average, while nine showed scores “well below” England levels.

Parents in Irlam are asking for a school bus to end “nightmare” commute for children

Parents from Irlam and Cadishead are calling for a direct school bus service to bring their children to school “safely and on time”. A petition set up three days ago for a school bus to be routed from Irlam and Cadishead to Culcheth High School had already received 137 signatures at the time of writing.
