A Salford-based theatre group is hosting an evening of entertainment and fun this holiday season.

Audiences are being encouraged to enter the “warm, welcoming, friendly environment” of Treading The Bored’s Annual Christmas Revue this weekend.

Attendees can expect to see a “sparkling mix of monologues, comedy sketches, short dramas and musical performances”.

The not-for-profit community group was set up in 2022 to create a space for amateur adult dramatics to come together and put on shows, revues, and pantomimes.

The friendly group, based in Cadishead, is made up of members “aged 18 to infinity” that all share a passion to learn and develop their performances.

Sylvia Mcdowell has been involved with Treading The Bored for the last couple of years and now operates as their secretary, helping with administrative support and funding.

She said: “I got involved to find friendship, fun and creativity”.

The group hosted a revue last year and received very positive, encouraging feedback.

Sylvia said: “People really enjoyed it and the different acts and variety that were performed”.

Like last year, audiences can expect a dynamic range of performances, from comedy to music and dance to drama.

The revue will run both Friday and Saturday the 5th & 6th December, from the Rixton and Glazebrook Community Hall in Hollins Green, with doors opening at 7pm.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own drinks and enjoy their fun-filled evening.

Tickets are £5 and are available at the local community shop in Hollins Green.

Alternatively, for tickets or information about getting involved, you can email ttbored@outlook.com or contact the group via their Facebook page.
