A busy what's on list at the Eagle Inn

A Salford pub is stepping up its efforts to provide a platform for up-and-coming bands.

The Egerton Arms, Gore St, wants to give Salford performers a chance to be heard at a range of gigs and other events.

Wednesday is an Open Mic Night,  Friday is Karaoke Night, the popular Live Music Night is Saturday and there is a free Jukebox Night on Sundays.

Landlord Richard Greenwood is proud of the pub’s growing reputation among music fans.

New names are now joining regular favourites such as Pete Whibley and Beth McRoy.

Sinead McElroy, who has been selected to perform at the FA Cup final and worked at the Egerton Arms, has given some memorable performances at both the Live Music Night and Open Mic Night.

Richard Greenwood said: “It is a good breeding ground for young artists and old artists alike.”

Musicians who want to get involved in one of these special nights can turn up on any Wednesday and put their name on the board, or introduce themselves to the Egerton Arms music scout Dan Hindmarsh here.

This quaint and timeless pub close to Salford Central Railway Station, is the place to be for artists, music fans and anyone who wants an affordable drink, a good atmosphere and a nice chat.
