A new group of Salford crafters is busy creating work for a community festival in January.
A Together in the Making project is under way at Salford Arts Theatre led by Paul Pickford and funded by Salford CVS.
They are building towards a social connection festival that will bring Salford people, stories and creativity together for an afternoon in the new year.
The venue is extending its range of activities for local people while still running its theatre shows, including the popular pantomime which this year is Dick Whittington.
The project is a celebration of different creative forms which provides free art classes every Monday.
The creations will then be on show for a one-day festival on Sunday January 25.
It will be an afternoon filled with art, storytelling, and maybe some exhibitions of photographs and workshops.

Roni Ellis, artistic director and theatre manager at the Salford Arts Theatre, said: “It is looking at identity, place, community and what that means to each group we are working with.”
Anyone, including complete beginners can join in to experiment with different crafts and techniques such as magic mold. All materials are provided.
Roni said: “If you have some experience, great but if you have had no experience still great,”

Anyone wanting to join in can fill in an online form to register or just turn up on the Mondays.
There is no age limit but most crafters are retired as sessions run during the day from 1-2.30pm at Salford Arts Theatre, off Liverpool Road.
