A night of guided meditation and spiritual connection will take place next month in Swinton to raise money for a domestic abuse charity.

On Thursday 11 December, ‘The Charitable Night of Spiritual Connection’ will feature a guided meditation session, a mediumship demonstration from Alison Okang, a supper, and a raffle at the Agnes Hopkins Centre in Swinton.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Salford Survivor Project, a charity that supports people who have experienced abusive or violent relationships across the city.

Organisers hope the evening will raise both awareness and funds to help those affected by domestic abuse. They say donations will help to secure safe accommodation, furniture and clothing this winter for people fleeing domestic abuse.

One of the women behind the initiative is Ferdy Habib, who works under the professional name Radiance Reiki.

“I have been running women’s circles, charitable events and other activities for about a year now. I wanted to get women together so they can relax, heal and connect with other ladies in a safe space,” she said.

“I have raised almost £5,000 for a range of charities, including the Florida Children’s Charity, brain-injury charity Headway, and Functional Neurological Disorder Charity.

“The event taking place in support of the Salford Survivor Project is open to everyone and hopefully as many people as possible will attend.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £12, with attendees encouraged to help with raffle contributions to boost takings for the charity.
