Former Coronation Street star Steven Arnold will feature in a fast-paced, ‘Dickens-meets-disaster’-style comedy show at Salford Arts Theatre in October.
Doing Dickens is a new comedy show from the award-winning Northern Comedy Theatre, set to tour independent UK theatre venues in October and November.

Kathryn Chambers, Farron Ronan, Steven Arnold and Robert Stuart-Hudson give a chaotic performance of every Charles Dickens novel in one show.
It has been described by Northern Comedy Theatre as ‘wordplay, lots of fake beards, and more chaos than Victorian workhouses’.
Steven Arnold, who is known for his 1995-2010 role as Ashley Peacock in ITV soap opera Coronation Street, has starred in a handful of Northern Comedy Theatre productions.
The comedy was written by playwright David Spicer, a scriptwriter and playwright best known for his comedy series’ on BBC Radio 4. He has previously worked with stars such as David Tennant, Bill Bailey and Johnny Vaughn.
The show will begin its tour at Salford Arts Theatre on Wednesday, October 22, hoping to become the next success in a line of successful Northern Comedy Theatre productions, following comedies such as ‘Doing Shakespeare’ and ‘Perfect’.
In 2020, the theatre company was awarded a special OneOff award from OffWestEnd. They also won the Scenesaver award for Best Ensemble in 2021.
Tickets and further information are available on the Northern Comedy Theatre website.
