Karl Robinson Post Match interview vs Swindon

Manager of Salford City Karl Robinson praised his side after a dramatic 3-2 win against Swindon Town.

The Ammies scored a 90th minute winner, courtesy of Kallum Cesay, to leapfrog their opponents and put themselves second in the league.

A dramatic end to a five goal thriller with the highlight of the game coming from Jorge Grant’s spectacular half-volley into the top right corner to give Salford the lead within five minutes.

Robinson praised his sides efforts in getting the three points over the line: “I thought in the first half we were outstanding. I thought we were the best team.

“I’m really proud of how we responded, I thought going back to two all, we were the ones who were making attacking substitutions to try and make it 3-2.

“The philosophy of the football club is we want to end up winning, all cost to an extent. We’re never going to pass an opportunity to win.

“When you’re drawing, you’re not winning so why not fight for that?

“I’d rather fight for something and lose it and then go, okay well, we know why we fell away.

“We might have lost this today, but I can say to you because we tried to attack and that is important to us, it’s a philosophy that we believe in right the way through the football club.”

Robinson’s men had a two goal advantage at half time, but Swindon responded with two of their own in the second half.

The Ammies dug in and snatched a last minute winner in a truly entertaining game of football to secure three points.

Robinson commented on Cesay’s late winner: “He works so hard Kallum, and you know what, just seeing people’s faces behind me.

“The elation, what we can do to people’s lives no matter how bad your week is at work, it doesn’t matter what you’re going through.

“As we know that we speak consistently about emotions and why this sport is so great. It was a wonderful way to finish the game.

“We’re here to entertain and win as many games as possible.”

Salford Travel to Bristol Rovers next week in hopes to get their fourth league win in a row with the chance of going top of the table.
