Salford City have launched a new YouTube series which will give supporters greater insight into how the club operates from within.
The club say the series, titled This Is Salford, will bring fans inside the dressing room, showcase the players and staff driving the Club forward, and reveal the stories behind its cast of characters. All delivered as it happens.
Unlike previous series, where supporters would need to wait several months to see what unfolded, episodes will be published throughout the season, offering a unique and fresh accompaniment to the on-pitch football action.
Following on from the success of pioneering documentaries on BBC and Sky Sports that have become the standard in football – and sport – This is Salford is a real-time series that will take fans into the heart of the changing room and the squad to see the real, raw Salford.
“This Is Salford is a closer look into a Football Club,” says Gary Neville, co-owner of Salford City FC.
“It’s filming dressing rooms – it’s been done before – but what might be different is how far we’re going to go and what we’re going to show. We want to make sure it’s authentic and honest.
“We need to get this out there as it happens. It needs to be in real time. It’s their Salford, it’s the fans’ Salford, and we want to show it.”
This is Salford represents an evolution in the Club’s media approach, offering premium content that is both delivered in real time and high-quality in production, the club explained.
The series will have two strands: This Is Salford: Match Day – focusing on the action around the match, footage from the dressing room, tactical insights and an inside view – released within 36 hours of the final whistle.
And This Is Salford: Our Story – a deeper level of storytelling, following players, coaches and club staff on everything from transfers to causes they’re passionate about.
All current and future episodes of the This is Salford series are free and availible to watch on Salford City’s YouTube channel.
