Salford City Head Coach Karl Robinson has reflected on the club’s business over the transfer, with full focus and attention back on the league season.
A productive and determined window has seen 14 players come through the doors at the Peninsula Stadium as the Ammies build a squad to challenge for promotion from League Two.
The big changes to the Salford side followed on from the exit of 17 players at the end of the campaign, as they continue their push for promotion.
And now as September begins, with Salford sitting on 10 points from 18, Karl is pleased with what he has ready and is now looking forward to seeing the squad perform.
Following the challenging start to the season, and many new faces walking through the Salford door, Karl Robinson said: “This has been hard, I think that the transfer window has been long, but it’s been very well thought out.
“Our standards have to be of a level, talent alone won’t be the defining bit that gets you over any line because we’ve got to make sure that we work hard, we’ve got to make sure that we demand of each other, we’ve got to make sure that we keep ourselves on the edge.
“With the talent that we’ve signed we should be incredibly competitive, we should be the team that teams are looking at.”
And the latest arrival of Dan Udoh will look to do just that, the transfer deadline day signing was one of 14 to join the club – all sharing the same promotion.
And with the new additions to the team, the Ammies head coach is hoping that the newest arrivals will lift the club and supporters to another level.
He continued: “We need to get this place rocking, we need more people, we need your friends, your family, people who live near and will come to watch us.
“It’s about seeing people enjoy themselves on the terraces, we want to play a brand of football that’s exciting.
“We’ve assembled a team that’s going to be aggressive, exciting to watch, and we’ll let our football do the talking.
“My team will be very, very aggressive in every area and when I look behind me every Saturday I will have players who will think they should be playing, so the level of training will increase, the level of competition consistently will be better, and that gives me more headaches.”
“But that’s a headache that I’ve asked for and it’s something I’ve been given, and I can’t wait to use all these players and show the type of squad that we have.”
