Salford Red Devils fan group ‘The 1873’ have organised their “biggest, loudest, most visual” protest march ahead of the fixture against Catalans Dragons.
The protest march will follow the previous march’s hosted on before both the cancelled fixture against Wakefield Trinity and the most recent away journey to Warrington Wolves.
The Red Devils supporters group have been making themselves heard, as they marched towards the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Travelling supporters were also rewarded for their efforts, with the Red Devils pulling off a shock win against The Wire on Friday night (29 August).
At the end of the game the players and staff could be seen brandishing the 1873 banners, whilst joining the supports in their post-match celebrations.
In fighting for our club, we’ve found something special. A unified bond between fans, players and staff.
The 1873 isn’t just a protest group, it’s become a movement.
Fans and players standing shoulder to shoulder. On the pitch or in the stands, we fight as one.

Following the game, a spokesperson for The 1873 said: “In fighting for our club, we’ve found something special.
A unified bond between fans, players and staff. The 1873 isn’t just a protest group, it’s become a movement.
“Fans and players standing shoulder to shoulder. On the pitch or in the stands, we fight as one.”
And their ‘fight’ will continue this Thursday, as the Red Devils supports group have encouraged fans to turn out again for their “biggest, loudest, most visual protest yet.”
The supporters group shared on X: “Two marches. Thousands of voices. A fan base united. But the fight isn’t finished.”
Ahead of the fixture against the Dragons, supporters are once again being encouraged to meet at Salford Roosters from 5.30pm, and begin their ‘unified’ protest march to the stadium at 7pm.
The supporters group have also shared ahead of the march that there will be a special guest joining the march, with the clue being “he’s one of our own.
“Make sure you’re there to give him the welcome he deserves.”
