The Lowry Academy is celebrating after its Year 11 students received their GCSE results, marking a stellar year for the school. 

The results shared today (Thursday 21 August), reflected the journey of improvement the school has been on in recent years.

Among students of The Lowry Academy, there was a collection of students celebrating a host of the highest 8 and 9 grades.

Some of the students included, Anastasiia, who achieved seven grade 9s, two grade 8s, and one grade 7; Ola, who achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s, and two grade 7s.

Ola said: “My advice for students sitting exams next year would be to try your best – that’s all that matters! I’m going to Loreto College as my next step, studying Physics, Geography and Maths.

“Thank you to The Lowry for all your help and guidance.”

As well as this Michelle, achieved three grade 9s, three grade 8s, one grade 7, and one grade 6; and Wilson, who achieved three grade 9s, five grade 8s, and one grade 7.

Outstanding grades also included Georgie, who achieved five grade 9s, three grade 8s, and one grade 7.

After collecting results today, Georgie said: “Thank you to The Lowry for all the support! I am looking forward to studying English Literature, History and Psychology at Xaverian College.”

The results have been a standout year school, with the achievements also be celebrated by Principal of The Lowry Academy, Claire Coy, who said.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating this year’s GCSE results which are testament to the strong improvement we have made as a school over the past few years and the very positive trajectory we are on.

“The achievements of our Year 11 cohort are the result of years of hard work, determination, and resilience from our students, supported tirelessly by our dedicated staff.

“Whilst there are many individual success stories, what makes us most proud is that every student has worked hard to achieve their personal best,” Claire added.

She continued: “These fantastic results will open many doors for our young people and equip them with the confidence and skills they need for the future.

“We are immensely proud of them all and wish them every success in the next stage of their journeys.”
