Salford City Head Coach Karl Robinson has shared he remains encouraged by his squads most recent performances, as they prepare to face Accrington Stanley.
The Ammies most recently exited the Carabao Cup after a penalty defeat to League One rivals Rotherham United, but despite being eliminated he has been able to pull positives from their run of form.
Salford last league fixture saw them get their first win of the campaign from home against Notts County, and they would like to bring that form to the Peninsula Stadium.
Karl Robinson said: “I think the performance at the weekend (against Notts County) was excellent, and I think it was backed up again on Tuesday night with another very, very good performance.
“Trying to find consistency in what we are trying to achieve is just as important as well.”
Building on the close penalty exit, the Salford Head Coach shared that the club have been busy and focused ahead of tomorrow’s fixture (Saturday 16 August).
“It has been a productive week. It becomes a great week if we get a positive result on Saturday, with six points and a good performance on Tuesday.
“I know we got beat on penalties, but I thought our showing was excellent.
“We know we have got some very difficult games coming up, and we know we have got to try and have everyone fit and available, but I think that the rhythm that we are trying to find is just as important.”
And with his side looking for a win, he reminded himself that their weekend opponents are tough opposition.
He added: “With Accrington at the weekend, we know how difficult that was when we got beat 2-1 at home last year, and we were well under par with our performance.
“Accrington put a very strong team out and made it very, very difficult for us.
Karl Robinson continued: “They do possess some real quality, but we know that we have got some quality as well.
“We have got to match their effort, match their honesty, and hope that we have a little bit of quality in the final third to get a positive result.”
The fixture will kick-off at the Peninsula Stadium at 3pm and will see the two sides battle it out to but a firm stamp on their season.
