This autumn Lowry audiences will be treated to performance of Agatha Christie’s Death On The Nile, with Mark Hadfield starring as Poirot.
Mark Hadfield will star as the Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, in Lucy Bailey’s new production.
The actor is most known for his roles in the films Belfast, Into the Woods, Hamlet, and Frankenstein – and recently performed on TV in Outlander, Maigret, Trollied, Wallander, Doc Martin, and People Like Us
He will star as Poirot, with more cast members set to be announced soon.
And as a part of the tour, it still stops at the Lowry from Friday 26 September until Saturday 4 October.
The performance at the Lowry will also see Fiery Angel bring Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic to the stage.
And will hope to follow on from the sell-out tours of And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express.
Death on the Nile also reunites writer Ken Ludwig, director Lucy Bailey (Witness for the Prosecution) and producers Fiery Angel in association with Agatha Christie Limited for the European premiere of a new adaptation of the globally celebrated Agatha Christie story.
Residents will be taken on board a luxurious cruise under the heat of the Egyptian sun, a couple’s idyllic honeymoon is cut short by a brutal murder.
And it sets a time for secrets buried in the sands of time to finally resurface, can the world-famous detective, Hercule Poirot, untangle the web of lies and solve another crime?
Ahead of the performance at the Lowry, Mark Hadfield spoke about the opportunity to take on this role as Hercule Poirot.
He said: “I am delighted and excited to be playing the iconic role of Hercule Poirot in the forthcoming production of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, directed by Lucy Bailey and produced by Fiery Angel.
“I’m also thrilled that this production, adapted by Ken Ludwig, will be touring the UK & Ireland, and have no doubt that it will be enjoyed by both those who already admire Christie’s genius and those yet to discover it.”
And those looking to attend the show will be able to get tickets from £21 – as it comes to the Lowry from Friday 26 September to Saturday 4 October.
