Salford Red Devils have confirmed the arrival of another loan player, with Kobe Rugless joining on a two-week deal.

The current Hunslet RLFC hooker will join Salford, alongside the club’s latest arrivals from Warrington Wolves Dan Russell and Tom Whitehead.

The two signed for the Red Devils earlier in the week, and the new trio will be hoping to be involved in Sunday’s Betfred Super League clash with Hull FC.

Rugless began his career in the junior ranks of Sydney Roosters before making 35 appearances in Australia’s second-grade competition for Norths Bears and the Newcastle Knights.

Moving onto New South Wales Cup outfit, Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles, his performances earned him a pre-season appearance with Manly.

And it seems that his abilities are generational as Kobe’s dad, Troy also played on these shores before; plying his trade down South with the London Broncos, making 15 appearances in 1993/94.

The Australian will now join the squad, hoping to make an impression at the Super League club in his two-week loan move.

During the move he is set to play Hull FC and St Helen’s – both of which will be massive games for the club, as they look to get their second win of the season.

On making a loan switch to the Red Devils, Rugless has said: “I’m really grateful for the opportunity that this club and the coaches are giving me to come to such a prestigious club over here in the UK.

“I am super excited to get into training and meet all the squad and staff.”

And following the arrival of Rugless the Red Devils said: “Everyone at the Club is excited to have Kobe onboard and looks forward to seeing him don the red shirt very soon.”

The Red Devils will kick-off this weekend on Sunday 3pm against Hull FC at the Salford Community Stadium – more information can be found here.
