new skills and work website

A new skills and work website has been launched in Salford to help residents find learning, training, and employment.

The new website has been set up by Salford City Council to better connect residents and help them find good quality work.

The website will aim to bring together a wide range of local support into one accessible hub.

And it will be accessible for everyone, whether someone is leaving school or college, looking for a new job, returning to work after a period of inactivity, or considering a career change.

The aim of the site is to make it easier to find the right information, advice and guidance.

The website is split into sections to support different audiences – including young people, adults, employers, and professionals.

The newly launched site will also cover everything from applying for apprenticeships and writing a CV to becoming a Real Living Wage Employer or supporting residents in work.

It also showcases the many organisations working across the city to support people into work or further learning, including the council’s own services such as Salford Employment Hub, Salford Supported Employment, and work and health programmes such as WorkWell.

The new site is part of the council’s wider commitment to improving employment outcomes for all residents and tackling inequalities in access to good quality work.

Following the launch of the site, Councillor Pepper, Lead Member for Skills, Work and Business Support at Salford City Council, said: “The new Salford Skills and Work website is a really important step in making sure people in Salford can easily find the right support at the right time.

“We want everyone to have the opportunity to develop their skills, gain confidence and access high quality employment. This website brings all that support into one place – making it simpler for residents to take that next step, whatever stage they’re at.”

Residents, employers and partners are encouraged to explore the new site here and share it with anyone who might benefit.
