A lesbian couple from Salford who have millions on TikTok views have praised the city for its inclusivity and named it one of the best places in the country to be gay.
Beth, 32, and Bec, 31, have been together for 11 years having moved in together up here after meeting at university in Portsmouth.
The duo now run a Tiktok account named Beth and Bec, which has received more than two million followers, have grown their account to over 8,000 followers.
But they believe they have seen how inclusive and progressive Salford is since moving to the area, as Beth said: “I’ve always felt like its okay to be myself here.”
The couple continued to share that they feel more positive about the area, and praised events such as Salford Pride and Pink Picnic for allowing that to happen.
Beth and Bec started posting to Tiktok earlier this year as a fun pastime to do together.
And with Bec managing director for a social media agency, working with different celebrities and content creators, her expertise has helped them grow their own page.
“We’ve grown maybe three or four thousand followers in just a few weeks so it’s doing pretty well. It’s a bit of a creative outlet because obviously we do it day-in day-out for other people so I thought lets give it a go and see what we can do ourselves!”
Posting mainly relatable couple content that has allowed them to amass a quick following, hopping on trends and making funny skits.
The two have a love together for health and fitness and travelling; incorporating this into their content – with a video rating safe places to travel for lesbians surpassing 60,000 views.

After posting this video they realised that people want to know about where they can safely travel and as they have been so many places together over the past 10 years they wanted to give people an insight into staying safe.
Beth continued: “When we look for places we want to travel its really hard being gay because not everywhere is safe.
“We have to do our own research to see what places are suitable and safe for queer people.”
“Can you hold hands? Can you share a hotel room? Can you give each other affection in public?”
The account offers a super insightful perspective, whilst also remaining exciting and funny.
