Salford Red Devils will be looking for revenge as they line-up against Leeds Rhinos for the second time this season.
The Red Devils will be meeting the Rhinos once again after their 6-32 defeat in Round Two, where despite a quick start from the Reds, six tries from the visitors took the two points.
Paul Rowley’s side will be looking to improve on their previous meeting against the West Yorkshire outfit who still haven’t been able to find consistent form.
The Rhinos will be walking into this fixture with three wins and three defeats from their opening six league games – where they have struggled to find form away from home.
All three league defeats have come away from home, and their exit from the Challenge Cup also coming away from home against St Helens 22-14.
And with the Rhinos only away winning coming against the Red Devils, they will be hoping to turn this narrative around.
Brad Arthur’s side will be looking to take the perfect opportunity against the Red Devils, especially after signing the clubs captain Kallum Watkins.
Watkins who has returned to Leeds, a place where he found great success, will not feature in the fixture but will mentally impact the team’s performance.
And despite Salford Red Devils exit from the Challenge Cup to the Catalan Dragons, and lack of wins in the league – the team have seen improvements in performance.
And this was highlight by Red Devils Assistant Coach, Krisnan Inu who said that the team has got ‘a bit of payback’ on the cards.
He added: “I think both teams are different now – obviously, ours is a lot different. For them, they are playing well, they’ve got some good individuals and they’ve been playing well the last few weeks.
He continued: “Maybe not got a few results that could have gone their way, but they’ve been awesome. For us to come up against them again, at home, we’ve got a bit of payback up our sleeve.”
The Red Devils will kick-off tomorrow at the Salford Community Stadium at 8pm, as they aim to kick on with their season as they hope to turn the poor start around.
