The Red Devils Women will have fond memories, as it was the first trophy the team lifted, in what was a memorable inaugural year.
And fast forward three years on from the trophy lift, the women’s team will be looking to this competition hoping to repeat history – asΒ they will be looking to etch their names into the Challenge Shield for the second time.
The Red Devils will have the home advantage for the fixture and will be playing against Trinity on the Community Field for a 2pm kick-off.
Ahead of the fixture there will be a lot of excitement amongst the players, who will have the opportunity to showcase their talents as a team.
Head Coach, Mike Grady said:Β βIβm looking forward to the cup game this week against Wakefield. Like any other game, itβs going to be a tough one with Wakefield having some good results over the last few weeks.
βIβm a big believer in what we do and how we prepare. We have had a good few weeks of training after Sheffield and we have to take that into this game, which promises to be a tough encounter.
βThe cup is another chance for silverware and every team will be wanting that and thatβs no difference for us.
βWe had a great result against Sheffield, but thatβs history now and we need to focus, prepare well, and approach this week with the right mentality. Looking forward to it.β
