Swinton Lions second-rower Finley Beardsworth has reflected on their first loss of the season to Dewsbury Rams.
The Lions lost 26-10 to Dewsbury Rams on the weekend, ending their 100% win rate in the Betfred League One.
A slow first half for Swinton resulting in a 14 point gap that proved too much for them to complete the comeback despite a stronger performance in the second half.
Second-rower, Finley Beardsworth said: “Dewsbury have a big set of lads, it was probably the toughest game we’ve had.
“There were some spells where we could deal with them, but at the end of the day we didn’t, so that’s why we got the result we got.”
The Lions sit fourth in the league but only one point of the league leaders.

When asked about the team’s discipline in the game, Finley said: “Yeah, I think discipline was our biggest issue. We can’t keep giving away silly penalties and expect to win, that’s not how rugby works.”
Swinton Lions next game is on Sunday 30 March and they will hope to bounce back to winning ways against Goole Vikings who are winless this season.
