A Salford charity has raised over £260,000 with a guest list packed full of Manchester stars at their inaugural gala dinner.
The fundraiser hosted by the Foundation92 and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital was hosted on Friday 21 March at the Victoria Warehouse.
The inaugural charity event took place in Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse and saw many recognisable guests in attendance, including reality TV star Tanya Bardsley, former Manchester United player Wes Brown, and radio presenter Gemma Atkinson.
Throughout the gala dinner, a raffle was held, with prizes including a performance from a nine-piece band, and an appearance on Gary Neville’s widely successful podcast, The Overlap.
Created in 2018 by the Salford City owners, Foundation 92 seeks to aid the lives of people across Greater Manchester and Salford, tackling homelessness, and educating people about health and wellbeing, employability skills and youth outreach.

According to the organisation’s website, this service “provides vital support at crucial moments, empowering young people to find their voice, build confidence, and navigate the challenges of their condition.”
The night included celebrity hosts Jenny Powell and Mike Toolan, and ended with £267,412 raised for both charities, which will be used both to support people around Greater Manchester through sport and help fund the largest children’s hospital in the country.

The event will also support two projects at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, the country’s largest and busiest children’s hospital which cares for over 285,000 children and young people from across Manchester and the Northwest each year.
Chair of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Kathy Cowell OBE, said: “It has been a privilege to host the Champions for Children Gala Dinner tonight.
