A Salford couple are appealing for the adoption of a brave rescue dog, who they have been fostering for the last four months.
The appeals are from the Angels for Animals Foundation, after a local couple Grace and Carys brought the dog into care.
The wonderful dog named Halo has been looked after since October – and they are aiming to give a lifelong home.
Grace said: “When I saw Halo’s story and their desperate need to get her to the UK for healing in a foster, I immediately jumped at the chance.
“She is the best dog. ”
Halo was rescued from the streets, and taken into care – however, throughout her life it was clear that she had fell victim to sexual abuse – after she had lost one of her legs, which the foundation believes was the result of an amputation.
Halo is dog of mixed breeds, and is only three years old, with the adoption page describing her as “a very special girl who had the worst possible start in life.”
The dog was found collapsed in the streets, before she was rescued and cared for by the foundation, where she was eventually able to meet Grace and Carys.
The foundation collaborates with volunteers to rescue stray or abused dogs to rehome them in the UK with loving families.
And despite Halo’s start to life, she has had an excellent transition into care, as Grace said: “I knew in my gut that this was the transitional home she needed to heal and make strides before being adopted to a permanent family.
“Halo has come such a long way, initially very scared and shut down, she’s blown us away.
“She’s so confident and has the kindest nature,” she added: “She will be our hardest foster to see go because she’s just an angel. It’s broken me that she’s not had any interest.”
The adoption site also shared that Halo needs a person or a couple to give her lots of cuddles and belly rubs.
They also shared that: “Halo is great with other dogs. She is very neutral when meeting dogs out and about and would love a home with another confident and friendly dog, or alone with the chance to socialise.”
