Celebrations around Salford will begin this weekend with lively parties, family crafts, and vibrant Irish traditions for St. Patrick’s Day.
The religious and cultural holiday commemorating the death of Saint Patrick has evolved into a tradition of celebration of Irish culture with parades, green attire, and festivities.
This year various events will be held across the city of Salford to commemorate Ireland’s patron saint, and Salford Now have complied a list of all the locations you can join in.
Salford City Roosters – St Patrick’s Day Party
The first location that residents across the region will be able to enjoy is the St. Patrick’s Day Party being hosted by Salford City Roosters.
The party will be being held at Hallsworth Road in Eccles, and will be offering various activities throughout the day including fairground rides, teddy tombola, bingo, cake stalls and live Irish Band and DJ.
The event will be hosted on Saturday 15 March, and will be running from 11am until close – with the first 50 guests in attendance being offered a Shandon Stout for £3 a pint.
Guests will also be able to enjoy Guinness for a deal of two for £8 – more information about the event can be found here.
Kargo MKT – Free St Patrick’s Day Craft Club
Residents around Salford Quays will also be welcomed to join in the festivities at Quayside’s Kargo MKT.
On Sunday 16 March, children across Salford will be welcomed to attend from 10am until 12pm and create beautiful St. Patrick’s Day-themed wall or window hanging decorations.
They will also be able to decorate their vibrant rainbow with shamrocks, fluffy wool clouds, beads, and more.
Only children attending need a ticket, and parents can reserve a spot to the craft club here.
New Silver Dollar – Monton Social Club

Salford residents will also be able to enjoy the celebrations of St Patrick’s Day at the Monton Social Club this Friday.
Celebrations at the club will be held with the band New Silver Dollar performing, igniting the spirit and celebrations of the occasion.
Guests who wish to attend are urged to tickets to the live performance, with the show starting at 7pm, and tickets costing £6 each – which can only purchased directly at the club.
The New Oxford pub
The Oxford Pub will also be joining in the celebrations of Irish culture this week, with celebrations starting today (Thursday 13 March) and will end on March 17 (St Patrick’s Day).
Across the four days, guests who attend the pub will be welcomed to enjoy The New Oxford – where live music will be played everyday, alongside Cheltenham festival.
The pub have also noted that there will be plenty of Guinness to go around, to ensure that everyone can celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
St Patrick’s Day celebrations at 11 Central
Guests of Salford will also be able to visit Salford Quays once again as the Seven Brothers location, 11 Central will be offering their bar to St Patrick’s Day festivities.
The bar will be open to all to enjoy on both March 16 and 17, hosting live entertainment, drink deals, great food and Guinness.
The Salford Quays bar are encouraging that residents bring a mate and join in the party atmosphere.
The Farmers Arms in Swinton will be kicking off their celebrations on March 14, and will be partying through until St Patrick’s Day on Monday.
The local pub in Swinton will be offering a wide variety of deals for residents in Salford including Guinness from £4.80 and cocktail jugs for £9.50
As well as buckets of beer for £12, and whiskey’s on offer for £3.10, ensuring that residents of Swinton can enjoy the festivities.
The Black Lion Hotel and Bar
The Black Lion on Chapel Street will be encouraging residents in Salford to immerse into the festive atmosphere of St Patrick’s Day.
Throughout the day the pub will be showcasing live sport, offering guests to sing along to live music and once again enjoy plenty of Guinness.
The pub have ensured that the bar is fully stocked, and that they are waiting for guests arrival.
The celebrations at the Black Lion Hotel and Bar will be offering the chance to get involved from Saturday 15 March, and they hope to maintain the atmosphere until Monday 17 March.
Eagle Inn – One Dimensional Creatures
Salford residents will also get the chance to see One Dimensional Creatures perform at the Eagle Inn with support from other artists.
Guests will be able to attend the St Patrick’s Day gig with mint 77 spears, Elekdead and The Click Clacks also performing.
Residents who are interested in the event have been encouraged to purchase tickets to the show, and experience a night of “awesome music”.
Genres of punk rock, rap, and metal will band together for a night “that will blow your ear drums.”
Those interested in the performance will be able to purchase tickets for £7, and students will be able to get tickets for £4 – available to buy here.
Wellington Inn
The Wellington Inn will be offering Salford residents a weekend of ‘mini St Pats celebrations’ as they host festivities this week.
The pub will be the perfect location to enjoy Cheltenham festival, with the party atmosphere of St Patrick’s Day starting on Day Three of the horse racing festival.
The Wellington Inn will also be offering food, but will be welcoming lots of guests to the pub to join in.
Servite Parish Centre – St Patricks Festival
In celebration of St Patrick’s week, residents in Salford will be invited to a night of Irish music at the Servite Parish Centre.
The evening will be hosted on Friday 21 March, and will be welcoming guests to enjoy soulful Irish music from Jimmy Docherty and Dezi Donnelly.
Doors to show will open at 7pm, with the performance beginning at 7.30pm and expected to continue until 11pm.
