Salford City vs Chesterfield - Salford City

Salford City will turn their attention to Chesterfield as they seek to get their first win in five league fixtures.

The Ammies will be looking to relight their season ambitions and return to winning ways following a home draw to Crewe Alexandra.

Karl Robinson’s side have been without a win for five games, with their last win coming against Tranmere Rovers in a 2-0 victory.

Since the last win on Saturday 8 February, the Ammies have struggled to find form and have slipped down the table.

Despite picking some impressive draws against teams in the playoff positions, it has had an impact on the clubs aims for promotion.

Only picking up two points in the previous five games have seen Salford fall from 7th in the league table to 11th – six points away from playoff places.

However, despite the run of form, the Ammies will be hoping that they can turn their form around with Chesterfield only winning one the last five games.

Chesterfield will be walking into the game after a back and forth first half against Newport County, where they were able to score two goals in two minutes to counter out Newport County’s 40th minute goal.

The quick turnaround in the first half from the Spireites will be of concern to Salford City, although they will be having their eyes set on a Tuesday night home win to lift the fans.

And with Salford going into the game with a strong record against newly promoted sides, unbeaten in their last four games against newly promoted sides in this division (2 wins, 2 draws).

And with this being just the second Football League meeting between Salford City and Chesterfield, after the pair drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture back in August, the home fans will be hoping for all three points.

This will be a must win for Karl Robinsons side, as Chesterfield have lost each of their last four away league games.

And with players like Kelly N’mai in full fitness and goalscoring form, there will be a lot of optimism from the home support that they can collect all three points.

The game will kickoff at 7:45pm, at the Peninsula Stadium and fans will be hoping that they can help their side move in the right direction for the final 11 games of the season.
