local bands MSIX Calum Rowland is to the left and Harry Bolton is to the right

Two local bands are set to entertain audiences this month as they come together on stage of a social club.

The bands MSIX and S2T will join together and appear at the De La Salle Sports and Social Club hoping to entertain Salford audiences.

Both groups met through mutual friends and family and have supported each other multiple times in the past and will share the stage performing on Saturday 8 March.

The band MSIX is made up of members, Calum, Harry, Chris and Nathan, who have been together since Year 10 in school, with Elliot joining a year later.

And despite not seeing eye-to-eye at first the band have gone from strength to strength pursuing their music talents ever since.

Ahead of the performance, members of MSIX, drummer Calum Rowlands and lead vocalist, Harry Bolton  spoke openly about their excitement for the gig.

The pair shared the difficulties that smaller bands face to make a name for themselves than it used to be but how that gap is bridged with the rise of social media.

Harry, MSIX’s lead singer said: “Trying to do the same things that they did, now, wouldn’t work. Now, social media is the biggest thing to get on.

“So many people used to come to gigs just see bands they didn’t even know, and that’s how the smaller bands became big.”

Throughout the performance, band will play five to six of their original songs, only one of which has been released.

Audiences will be able to hear their first single, ‘People So It Seems’ was released October 12, 2024.

The song is an alternative leaning track with a beautiful backstory and will be the opening song played at De La Salle.

Drummer, Calum said: “We always start with ‘People So It Seems’ and end with ‘Tension’.

“This is to keep the audience engaged in the show, starting with a slowly building song and ending with a song the band have described as ‘cinematic.”

The song Tension has become significant, and is set to be released on Spotify on 31 March.

While the newly released song, ‘People So It Seems’ as come from fellow bandmember, Elliot Barrett, despite the fact that Barrett was not an original part of the band.

Rowlands and Bolton described how the band came to be, through a secondary school musical showcase, with Barret joining in 2023, two years after the band first meeting in 2021.

And with MSIX being able to take to the stage, they will join with the local band S2T – the collaborating band, although they don’t have any original music will plan to play covers of well-known songs alongside MSIX’s original tracks, making for a good mix of unique and popular music for all to enjoy.

The event will commence on Saturday 8 March and will begin at 7pm – tickets to the show can be found for £8 here.
