Salford City player Hakeeb Adelakun has been nominated for the League Two player of the month due to his red-hot goalscoring form.

The English winger scored four goals and assisted one in five games in an impressive month for the player and was able to be influential for the Ammies.

Adelakun joined Salford City in the summer of 2024 on a free deal from Lincoln City and has been a key attacking asset for Karl Robinsons’ side and their promotion ambitions.

Despite the winger’s goal contributions for the team, Salford City only managed to pick up five points from a possible twelve in the crucial stages of the season.

The Ammies now sit seven points outside the play-off places with a game in hand over play-off rivals Crewe Alexandra.

The forward has been trusted to take penalties scoring one in the Ammies 2-1 loss to Port Vale.

Hakeeb Adelakun has been nominated alongside Newport County’s Nick Townsend, Bradford City’s Antoni Sarcevic and Bromley’s Michael Cheek.

The winger’s contract expires at the end of the season and the Ammies fans will hope Salford City player Adelukan will extend his contract before the start of next season.

The Ammies next game comes tonight (Tuesday 4th March) against mid-table side Swindon Town as Adelukan will hope to replicate his goal scoring form and fire Salford City back to winning ways.
