The Salford Youth Zone has received increased support as the largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK have committed to an additional three years of patronage.

The opening of the Salford Youth Zone is quickly approaching with the doors of the facility set to welcome the Salford community this summer.

The state-of-the-art facility will provide young people with a safe, inspiring, and engaging space, and will be a major milestone in the city’s commitment to supporting its youth.

Located on Belvedere Road in Salford, the Youth Zone will offer various activities and opportunities for young people aged 8 to 19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs).

From sports and creative arts to employability workshops and mental health support, the centre aims to empower young people by helping them build confidence, learn new skills, and form lasting friendships.

And this will be accessible through the facility that will offer more than 20 activities every session for just 50p per visit, including rock climbing, boxing, music production, cooking, employability skills and much more.

The developments of the SYZ have seen the facility backed by local businesses and Salford City Council all contributing to the future success that the facility will hope to offer.

And with the countdown for the opening underway, a spokesperson from the SYZ said: “The mission of Salford Youth Zone is to provide children and young people with somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to.

“We want to inspire children and young people in Salford to lead healthy, happy, safe and successful lives.”

Registration to become a member of the youth zone will open on the 27th March, with members having “access to trusted youth workers they can talk to and a free hot meal each time they attend, as part of SYZ’s dedication to supporting young people in the Salford area.”

And the facility will hope to give back to the Salford community, as the spokesperson continued: “The most rewarding part of our offer is watching young people grow in confidence and discover their passion for themselves.

“There’s so many different directions they can take, even within the Youth Zone itself, but really letting them pursue that for themselves and be the best version of them they can be is going to be most rewarding.

“It really is a provision by young people for young people and I think that makes it a really unique and important offer.”

With the countdown to the opening underway, Salford Youth Zone is set to be a transformative space, giving young people a voice and a place to thrive. For more information on how to get involved, find out more through the link here.
