Forty-nine new affordable homes are set to be built on land off Liverpool Road and Green Lane in Cadishead after plans were approved by Salford City Council.
Breck Homes and North Cheshire Developments are set to build on unused land which was previously occupied by industrial units which have all been cleared.
Andy Garnett, director at Breck said: “This development will be an important part of fulfilling the growing need for affordable housing in the Cadishead area and takes into consideration the concerns of the council regarding the previously proposed development.
“In addition to the new public space and trees, we have also ensured there is adequate parking for all residents to minimise the development’s impact on neighbouring streets.”

The developments feature 19 two to four-bedroom houses and 30 one or two-bedroom apartments, which will lie adjacent to the Coach and Horses pub.
The site was the home of 200-year-old pub The Lion which was demolished in 2016.
Breck Homes is the third housing company to take on the development and is hoping to complete it by mid-2026.
Lane End Developments’ 58-house development collapsed in 2022, before McCarthy Stone took on the land in 2023 to build 58 retirement apartments, which eventually also collapsed.
