A dedicated prom wear shop has opened for the young people of Salford, with all items of clothing being completely free.
Salford Step into Action have collaborated with Body Mind Educate to bring a free pop-up prom shop to Salford.

The new pop-up shopin Walkden is offering private one-to-one appointments for young people and their parents to choose from a wide range of dresses, shoes, bags, suits and even some jewellery.
The initiative is motivated by the desire to help young people celebrate the significant milestone without financial strain, and no criteria or proof of benefits is required.
Donations from the community have been crucial, as Becky from Body Mind Educate said: “We couldn’t do this without the community and that’s something we really do need to thank them for.”
There’s a huge array of colours available to choose from a selection of sizes range from size 4-24, and brands include Tommy Hilfiger, Moss Bross and even Armani.
Becky said: “We just want to help every parent in the community ensure that their young person goes to prom.

“We would much prefer that family put the £400-500 that they were going to spend on one child and booked a caravan holiday for the weekend, fill your fridge, take your kids bowling for the weekend.”
In previous years, many organisations have also got involved with free acrylic nails and hair and make-up services, and have urged anyone who can help and get involved to do so.

Becky said that the idea is “going from strength to strength,” and is becoming an “amazing service.”
They also offer children’s book day wear, with costumes and books available for free.
“These items have been worn for a few hours at most, and here to be utilised for free.”
Bookings can be made on Wednesdays from 2-6pm and Saturdays 2-6pm. The Salford prom wear shop is currently booked until the 1 March, so it is encouraged that bookings be made soon.
Anyone who can donate and help the cause are also urged to do so, more information can be found here.
