Cannabis plants and axe from GMP

A cannabis farm and a stash of weapons, including an axe, have been discovered in Little Hulton.

Numerous cannabis plants, growing equipment and other suspected illegal paraphernalia were discovered by Greater Manchester Police in Chedworth Crescent, Little Hulton on Sunday.

Several knives and an axe were additionally recovered at the site of the cannabis farm.

GMP said 18 knives had been handed into the force over the last week, with approximately 100 weapons handed in since January across two knife amnesties.

Sgt Helen Matthews, from GMP’s Little Hulton Neighbourhood Team, said: “I hope the people of Little Hulton can see the work we’re undertaking and that we take organised crime and anti-social behaviour incredibly seriously.

A man, aged 31, has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis, abstracting electricity and possession of offensive weapons. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
