Sounds From The Other City - 20th Birthday festival

Sounds From The Other City have released their lineup of musicians and artists ahead of their 20th birthday this year. 

The festival Sounds From The Other City will run on 4 May 2025, and will feature unique sounds spread across several venues.

The Salford based festival will allow residents to enjoy the celebrations of “new music, local promoters and the off-kilter beauty of Salford, the overlooked other city to Manchester.”

Sounds From The Other City has been running for two decades, evolving each year to provide a range of different artists.

This years festival will see artists perform across several venues such as; Islington Mill Gallery, St Phillips Church, Peel & Maxwell hall, The Old Pint Pot, Porta, Salford Museum & Art Gallery.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale on Friday 7 February at 10am – and they will be able to purchase tickets from £30.

The show will aim to offer guests the chance to experience something for everyone, and enjoy the values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Humanity, Openness, Freedom and Fun.

And be able to enjoy a spread lineup that will have something for everyone, from John Powell Jones’ art to live performances from Astrid Sonne.

Throughout the day, guests will be able to experience Cabaret: Club Brenda and art from Hayley Suviste and John Powell Jones.

The lineup will include a variety of DJ’s from Egg on toast, Sonic Yootha, Metrodome, love Party.

Guests will also be able to watch Samarai B2B Chunky, Ellen Beth Abdi, D.clemente, Baby B, Ghost Assmebly, Club Brenda.

And Fliss Mayo B2B Henzo, Galgish B2B LINGE, Amaka, Good Afternoon, dj_wachita, INA B2B DR MYSTERY, Inness Hallam B2B teepee, James Holroyd, Jus’ T, La Familia, Ladybeige B2B julie Wills, and KD22LR.

The performance of DJ’s will also include Mica, Nora B2B teepee h, Not Bad For A Girl, Obeka, Reisner, Robin Herge, Sharari, SOPHIA, Stuart Richards, The Fat Britney, and Twin Complex B2B.

Throughout the festival as well, guests will also be able to see it hosted by Charlie Boy Manson, Lill, and Yolanda Damoyi.

Guests looking for a taste of live music, will also be able to explore the world of unique and creative arts, with artists including –
Bodur, The Orielles, Tristwch Y Fenywod, Astrid Sonne, Big Joanie, Du Blonde, Grove x Toya De Lazy, Taliable, Marla Kether, The New Eves, Caleb Kunle, The None, Meduulla, Brown Horse and Dawuna.

The festival will also see Loose articles, YARD, Westside Cowboy, British Kids, Brown Wimpenny, Chaines, Hachiku, Bennettiscoming, holodrum.

And performances from The Orchestra, Set Dressing, Noelle, Industries, Kaoti, KARL D’silva,Tom Sharkett, Kynsy, Leo Hermitt, Meme Gold, Milkweed, Moth Slut, Norrisette, WDDS & rar materials, Zolatec and many more.

The Sounds of the Other City will include talks from Jennifer Lucy Alllan, Copper Sounds with Sonoscopia, Oluwaseun Olayiwola, and left cultures magazine and Jennifer Reid
