A six-week series of free photography workshops, for people aged 18-25, is launching in Salford in February.
The weekly National Lottery-funded workshops will be delivered by Saz Media, a photography and film social enterprise based at Salford Innovation Forum in Frederick Road.
More than 22 per cent of people living in Salford are economically inactive, according to Office of National Statistics.
Jordan Henrys, creative impact facilitator at Saz Media, said: “There’s a mass of people without education, training or employment, especially with the 18-25 year olds.
“Being a Salford-based company it is nice to give back to the community.”
The course will cover how to use photography for wellbeing as well as the basic skills needed, and there will be opportunities to look at opportunities for future media careers.
The free photography workshops will be taking place at Salford Innovation Forum, every Tuesday from February 25 for six weeks from 10.30am-1.30pm.
