Salford Red Devils

Salford Red Devils have been handed a third-round Challenge Cup tie against Midlands Hurricanes RLFC.

The third-round cup tie will see Salford go up against the ambitious League One side, setting the stage for a’ David-and-Goliath’ encounter.

The Birmingham-based side, have been turning heads with their recent gritty performances in the lower tiers of rugby league and book their place into the third round.

However, the former winners and 2020 finalists will be travelling down to the Alexander stadium hoping to start the campaign with a win.

The Hurricanes will see this as a golden opportunity to make a statement on one of the sports biggest stages by beating the Salford Red Devils.

While the Super League side will have the opportunity to assert their dominance early in the competition and stamp their authority against the lower level side.

Paul Rowley’s side, brimming with talent like the duo Nene Macdonald and Tim Lafai, will undoubtedly be heavy favourites but should avoid taking the fixture lightly.

The Hurricanes proved they are a team to watch in the competition, beating side Siddal ARLFC 46-0, who won the National League North Championship last season.

Salford Red Devils who finished 4th in the Super League, after a successful season with a club record of 11 home Super League victories, will be hoping to assert their dominance.

While the competing Betfred League One side will be hoping for a cup upset, and entertain the fans of the Alexander Stadium.

Rugby League fans will be keeping a keen eye on the fixture, hoping to see an underdog story unfold – however for the travelling Red Devils fans they will be hoping for nothing more than a comfortable victory.

The fixture will take place over the weekend of February 7-9th, with confirmed schedule and ticketing information coming soon.
