A new dynamic theatre company is set to host their debut production of the genre-defying tale of LIVES at the Lowry.
The first ever show from Sixth House will be hosted at the Lowry this February, and will be hosted in the Aldridge Studio.
Sixth House is the latest addition to Greater Manchester’s thriving creative scene and was developed in response to requests from independent theatre makers across the region for more opportunities to connect, collaborate and create together.
Established at the Lowry in 2024 through Lowry’s nationally recognised Artist Development programme, it will mark an exciting new chapter in Lowry’s commitment to championing new voices, fresh ideas and supporting the creation of bold new work.
The company debut performance of LIVES, will be hosted on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 February, as they aim to present a collection of six multidisciplinary artists.
The artist line up made of Natassa Argyropoulou, Pui-ka Cheng, Gabriel Clark, Samuel Tracy, Chloe Wade and Dan Willis, will aim to redefine the traditional conventions of a live performance.
“We could never have created a show like this as individual artists,” said the Sixth House collective: “It is the combining of our six disciplines that has made this process so unique and special.
“We can’t wait to share our first show with audiences,” they continued.
Throughout the performance of LIVES at the Lowry, it will hope to utilise movement, original music and striking visuals to create a genre-defying performance that tackles the themes of love, greed and human connection.
The play follows a mother standing trial, where hope battles despair and humanity wrestles with its nature.
Throughout the performance Lives asks the poignant question: can the decisions we make today, help shape a better tomorrow?
Senior Producer for Artist Development at Lowry, Antonia Beck, added: “At Lowry we are proud to drive initiatives that provide significant opportunities for artists to grow and inspire.
“Sixth House exemplifies what our approach to Artist Development programme is all about – nurturing bold, innovative voices and providing them with the support to create and thrive.”
Rooted proudly in Salford, this exciting new addition further solidifies the Lowry’s commitment to championing new voices and providing a space where fresh ideas can flourish.
The performance of the debut shows will commence at 8PM, with tickets being available through the Lowry website here.
