The Met Office have given warning to Salford residents ahead of the storm, being advised to check road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables.
A Met Office spokesperson added: “Prepare to protect your property and people from injury. Check for loose items outside your home and plan how you could secure them.”
Items that have been encouraged to protect include bins, garden furniture, trampolines, tents, sheds, and fences.
And those out in the storm and strong winds should also take caution with potential damage to buildings.
As there is potential that debris and tiles could be blown from roofs, and moved around by the strong gusts.
Residents around Salford are also be warned of potential power cuts – and have been advised to gather torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.
Amber warnings are in place for certain stretches of the northwest and residents are advised to remain updated with the Met Office website here.
