Rehearsal for NINE the Musical- behind the scenes provided by the Lowry

The final preparations are being made ahead of the production of NINE the Musical which heads to the Lowry this February. 

The concert version of Nine the Musical will feature twice on the Lowry stage, with audiences being able to watch the show on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February 2025. 

The story begins with movie director, Guido Conti finding himself struggling to find meaning, purpose and a script for his latest movie endeavour. He desperately searches for answers and inspiration with only a week left before shooting.

While seeking answers and inspiration from his friends and family, his chaotic profession begins to destroy his personal life as he tries to find a balance.

The show that has been produced by the Hope Mill theatre, will star Broadway and the West End’s Ramin Karimloo as Guido Conti.

The show was winner of the 1982 Tony Award for Best Musical and Best Original Score, and released as a movie in 2009 and featured an all-star cast including Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Fergie, Sophia Loren and Judi Dench.

The performance of the famous story will be produced by the Hope Mill theatre for their 9th birthday.  

The wonderful concert story of Nine the Musical will host a variety of famous names including Ramin Karimloo from Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Funny Girl) as Guido Contini.

As well as Ruthie Henshall (Chicago, Billy Elliot) as Liliane la Fleur, and Amber Davies (Pretty Woman, Back to the Future) who has been casted as Stephanie.

The list of names will combine with an ensemble of 24, a top tier creative team as well as a 24 piece orchestra.

The performance will be one you don’t want to miss, as  Joseph Houston, co-director of Nine praised the show said: “I believe this will be an unforgettable night of theatre.

“The talent we have assembled is truly remarkable.”

The director also went onto praise his lead man as Joseph said: “Ramin was born to play the role of Guido, and I truly think this will be a defining performance for him.”

As he continued: “The exceptional women we have on board are also outstanding, each of them bringing so much to these complex and wonderful roles.”

The show will be a wonderful celebration for the theatre company celebrating their 9th birthday, and will be an unmissable event for all guests who wish to attend.
