Salford City have been dealt a double injury blow as 20-year-old winger Kelly Nmai has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after picking up a knee injury in December.
24-year-old midfielder Ossama Ashley is also set for a spell on the sidelines, after picking up a calf injury during training.
Nmai has been an important part of Salford’s push for promotion this season, picking up three goals and three assists in 20 games this season.
Ashley has also been a standout player for the Ammies this season, appearing in 23 of the club’s 25 league games, and weighing in with three assists.
Fans of the club have reacted to the news on social media with some calling for the club’s board to act in the January transfer window to aid the team’s bid for promotion. One X user wrote: “Need to strengthen this month or forget the playoffs @GNev2“
