A charity fundraiser is set to take place this February aiming to raise over £3,000 for the North West Air Ambulance (NWAA).
The event is set to take place on Friday 21 February, and will invite residents to attend, with all proceeds going to the charity.
The fundraiser hosted at the Kersal Social Club, has been organised by Casey and Ammie Procter from Walkden.
The NWAA need to raise £18 million a year to keep the aircrafts in the air, without government funding and the married couple have been doing their part to raise funds.
Casey, 34, got involved in the charity last year, when his daughter Lily, 11, began raising money selling loombands and dummy clips for the charity last year but wasn’t old enough to be an associated volunteer.
Raising money for the charity, Casey and Ammie became volunteers and did everything they could to help raise money for the charity.
And with the success of fundraising, they believed that they could organise an event themselves for the Air Ambulance.
Casey said: “We are volunteers with the charity, and we wanted to set up an event that would give back to the charity.
“The loom band fundraiser has got a bit quiet, so we thought an event would be perfect to help raise funds.”
The event that will take place at the Kersal Social Club, running from 7pm until 12am – as they welcome anyone to attend.
Guests who choose to attend the event will be able to join in the fundraiser celebrations with a singer and a comedian performing, as well as a raffle worth up to £500, as well as a buffet.
Casey, continued: “We have spoken to agencies to get special guests to attend – as well as the Air Ambulance mascot will be there attending.
“We have had a lot of support from friends and families, and we have had a lot of donations through word-of-mouth.
“There is a chance to raise over £3,000 worth of tickets alone.”
And the charity has seen some support, as Casey added: “Warburton’s have been able to donate a few loaves of bread for us to make sandwiches for the buffet as well.”
Those willing to attend the event will be able to have a variety of ticket prices to choose from with under three’s being able to go for free.
And those between 3-12 year-olds will be charged 50p, and those twelve and above having to pay £5 for the event.
The event will also allow families of five to attend for £7.
And the event will be a very special one for the pair, as Ammie, 22, continued: “We are looking forward to the event, but we just want to make sure that we get the tickets sold.
“We have put a lot of preparation in.”
And Casey added: “For us this event is just about doing our part to keep the charity going, and the support.”
