Defender Stephan Negru has been re-called by his Championship parent club Oxford United after an impressive start to the season.
The 22-year-old defender has been an important player in the Ammies first half of the campaign, and has been essential to the teams rise.
Stephan made 22 appearances for the Ammies this season, and has been important to defensive resiliency.
Through his 20 league outings, the defender has been essential in achieving 10 clean sheets during that period.
The defensive strength of Salford has seen the club rise to 3rd in the division, and achieving six clean sheets in their previous seven fixtures.
The Irish defender arrived at the League Two side in the summer with some promise leaving Championship side Oxford United.
Negru signed from Oxford United from League of Ireland side Shelbourne in January 2023 and made 15 appearances in their League One promotion-winning campaign last season.
However, despite his efforts he was unable to keep his place in the side, and was sent to Salford where he has been a rock at the back for Karl Robinson’s side.
The defender has featured making a combination of starts and seeing off games from the bench.
The young talent was quickly able to become a fan favourite, and was growing to be a popular figure at the club.

Following his departure from Salford City, the club shared a statement that said: “We regret to announce that Stephan Negru has been re-called from his loan spell by Oxford United.
“We thank him for his efforts in M7, and send him on with our best wishes in his future career!
The departure will make him unavailable for the Ammies in their preparations for their historical FA Cup fixture against Manchester City.
However, the 22-year-old will most likely feature in the FA Cup this weekend as Oxford United prepare for their game against Exeter.
The call back comes as Oxford having doubt surrounding defender Elliott Moore, after suffering a groin injury against Millwall on New Year’s Day.
And after missing the previous weekends fixture against Preston North End, it seems likely that Negru will feature in this round in the FA Cup.
Despite the departure Salford City will have to readjust and reset their attention to this Saturday’s 17:45 fixture against Manchester City.
