National Highways to move into 100 Embankment - Salford City Council

Salford City Council’s flagship office block development is now 100 per cent fully let as National Highways agree to move in.

The 100 Embankment building is now fully let following the confirmation of National Highways relocating after agreeing a 10-year lease.

The move will see National Highways take part of the third floor, with around 12,131 sq ft of office space being utilised.

The office space is set to welcome around 130 members of their workforce will move to 100 Embankment, relocating from their current home in Piccadilly.

The move will begin in the new year, and will aim to fully occupy the building by spring 2025.

Steve Cooke, Director of Estates, Facilities and Services for National Highways, said: “Our relocation to Embankment East marks the latest step in our ongoing commitment to building a better, greener, and smaller estate.

By reducing our Manchester office space by half and selecting a building with advanced sustainability credentials, we are also advancing our commitment to reduce our carbon emissions in line with our plan to reach Net Zero on corporate emissions by 2030.”

Along with reducing carbon emissions, the move will see National Highways join a list of key tenancies that include Deloitte, XPS Group, Aecom and Ridge.

The development block was developed as a joint partnership between Ask Real Estate, Tristan Capital Partners and Salford City Council.

The building will be welcoming the latest tenants with the block being a fantastic location, stunning views and great transport links.

100 Embankment offers tenants a raft of quality facilities including the hugely popular roof terrace and an enviable sustainability commitment.

Councillor Jack Youd, Deputy Salford City Mayor and Lead Member for Finance, Support Services and Regeneration said: “It’s fantastic news to be welcoming National Highways to 100 Embankment, it’s great to see the deal now completed.

The big story here now though is that the development is now fully let.

“Every floor is taken with new tenants, most of them moving to Salford for the first time and it’s such positive news and definitely cause for celebration that we have reached this milestone in the developments’ history.”

Cllr. Youd continued: “It’s such an amazing development, one that we are immensely proud off.

“We always knew it would be a popular choice for businesses and now it’s really positive to see the belief in our decision pay off completely.”
