Blanconero food review - Image Fin Griggs

MediaCity has welcomed the new and popular hotspot destination Blanconero, that has customers queuing to try their exciting menu.

The new site in MediaCity opened seven weeks ago, and has seen so much excitement with customers lining up to try their Italian and English inspired dishes.

The independent coffee shop is located next to MediaCity’s Dock 10, and the Cbeebies studios.

Despite the shops modernised surroundings, the cafe is able to transport you into a comforting and homely environment – with the staff definitely serving with a smile.

This MediaCity eatery has proved to capture the hearts of its locals, being full to the brim of customers trying to delve into the wonderful food on offer.

Walking into the shop through the sliding doors you are immediately welcomed by an incredible blend of coffee and baked goods.

Ordering at the till we opted to order two of the same – a Caramel latte and a standard latte.

The coffee’s were strong but not boiling, allowing guests to immediately tuck into the tasty brew they were serving up.

On winters day by the Quays, a £3.50 latte, with a shot of caramel costing guests an extra £1, it was a delightful treat to battle to the cold weather.

And at the till guests of the café are welcomed with a smile, and ensemble of pastries and delicate sweet treats.

The collection of sweet treats included two delightful rich mini cannoli’s – which had a wonderful crunchy exterior and a welcoming gooey but tasty centre.

As we sat down in the bustling café we weren’t made to feel out of place, and were welcomed into the calming, warming environment of the shop.

Ordering our meals, we opted for two differing meals the Nduja Flipped Egg that was priced at £10 and the Bacon Brioche that would cost hungry visitors £7.50.

Both arrived at the table and wowed us – the plates were full with a variety of exciting colours that were perfectly constructed.

The meal of my choice was the Nduja Folded Egg, a combination of scrambled eggs with fiery Calabrian ‘nduja, smoked scamorza cheese and roasted peppers salsa all perfectly combined on a slice of sourdough bread.

Diving straight into Nduja Folded Egg, it was a sensory overload, with the smoky flavour of the cheese taking over – collaborating perfectly on the plate with the perfectly cooked egg.

The sourdough bread that we were told are left to prove for 48 hours before baking, was a delightful taste in the mouth.

And after a mouthfuls it quickly became apparent why this eatery has become such a success in both of its locations.

While the Bacon Brioche was filled with colour, and the combination of egg, bacon and brioche was a delightful experience for any guest.

The warm feeling of every bite was a perfect treat for a mid-morning brunch – and after speaking with co-founder Gavin Williams, it was clear to see why this was a fan-favourite.

The location is the second one to open for Blanconero with the other location being close by in Anchorage – the two locations are a perfect blend of English-Italian cuisine, and is a perfect brand new twist to the ever exciting MediaCity.

If you are looking for a trendy, and cosy eatery this is certainly the place for you – and I certainly will be returning.
