A Salford martial arts school is celebrating multiple wins after a successful weekend of fights.
The recent success of Salford Striking Academy, in Swinton, has extended to eight consecutive wins following the success of four fighters on the weekend.
Olly Carter and Oli Bottomley earned wins while Jamie Fellows had a knockout victory.
This extends the Muay Thai and boxing academy’s winning streak to eight, with fighters now looking on to their next events across the country and even venturing out to Thailand throughout November and early December.
Mark Skeer, who puts on fitness classes at the academy, spoke about how fighting helps out the community.
He said: “The academy’s been going for seven years now with a purpose to help people live fitter, stronger and healthier lives.
“Most members are only in it for the fitness and don’t have an interest in competing. However, the ones that do want to compete, we are very successful in helping them in that journey and have trained many champions.”
The academy is open to men, women and children who want to learn and train, whilst helping them achieve goals and improve their lives.
The classes the club put on include adults and children Muay Thai sessions, yoga, boxing, strength and fitness along with multiple other activities.
“We are looking forward to a big year with many of our young members coming through the rankings to be ready for their first competitions,” he added. “Them alongside our seasoned more experienced fighters should give us a strong team going forward.
“We are looking forward to new members joining and starting on their own journey, whatever that might be; fitness, health or even competition.”
